Meet our farmers.
TAXIDI OLIVE FARM
Christina and Antonis
Nestled in the sun-drenched landscapes of Zakros, Sitia, in eastern Crete, Christina and Antonis carry on their family’s long-standing tradition of producing exceptional olive oil. As the eldest of four siblings, they have inherited not only their family's olive groves but also a deep-rooted passion for olive oils produced with care for both environment and humans, offered at a fair price for its quality and a holistic view of its production.
Their approach goes beyond traditional production methods, weaving sustainability into every step – nurturing healthy soil and fostering biodiversity. The name of their farm — Taxídi (journey’ in Greek) represents a journey through history, tradition, and a personal quest for meaning and beauty. They dream of creating a hub where olive oil becomes a medium for knowledge, culture, and connection.
With Taxídi they invite us to reconnect with the origins of our food. Through honest, small-batch production and a deep respect for nature and culture, they hope to build a bridge between conscious consumers and the rich, living heritage of Crete.

OLEOSOPHIA
Marianna and George
At the base of Mt. Fokas, in the village of Kalentzi, George and Marianna’s story began with an unexpected love – both for each other and for real, quality olive oil. Marianna, a city girl with no ties to agriculture, never thought much about olive oil until George, an agriculture-savvy IT engineer, introduced her to the rich, aromatic Manaki variety from his family’s olive grove. That first taste changed everything, sparking a passion for honest, unpretentious olive oil and a vision to share this “aha!” moment with the world.
Oleosophia was born from this revelation, representing the wisdom of olive oil (Sophia = wisdom) and the unification of two families, old and new. Their family grove has been rooted in Kalentzi for three generations, producing limited batches of extra virgin olive oil, handpicked and crafted with care. Oleosophia celebrates love, heritage, and family, while preserving local varieties amid changing climates.
Leaving city life behind, Marianna has become not just an olive farmer but also a certified olive oil sommelier, dedicated to spreading knowledge and passion for olive oil to foodies and professionals alike. Oleosophia is more than just a farm; it’s a vibrant, extroverted space offering farm tours, workshops, and educational activities to share the rich world of olive oil with enthusiasts and experts alike.
